Telco debuts reward-based campaigns to celebrate users in the East Malaysian region

Several lucky U Mobile winners were delighted to be handsomely rewarded when they were announced as Round 1 winners of U Mobile’s “Borneo Quest” and “Lucky 30” campaigns. Held in light of the telco’s recent expansion to East Malaysia, the 8-week campaigns, which began in 20 May and is set to end on 19 July 2014, provides as a fun and rewarding avenue for U Mobile consumers in the region.

Walking home with attractive prizes such as brand new ZTE V817 phones and Air Asia travel vouchers worth RM1,500, the winners were thrilled to be rewarded through the simple activity of topping up their prepaid lines.

Jamlin Bin Sani, grand prize winner of Round 1 in the “Borneo Quest” contest in the Sabah region said, “Being announced as the winner of the contest came as such a great surprise, especially as I had just joined the contest for the fun of it. Thanks to U Mobile, I’m grateful to say that I can now look forward to going on a holiday.”

“I was over the moon when I was told that I had won the grand prize. I have been on U Mobile for quite some time now, but never envisioned that I would one day walk home being a grand prize winner in one of its contests,” said Dickson Victor Balang, grand prize winner in the Sarawak region for Round 1 of the “Borneo Quest” contest.

The “Lucky 30” rewards every 30th U Mobile prepaid subscriber in the region that tops up a minimum of RM30 by rewarding them with RM10 top-up credit. On the other side, the “Borneo Quest” contest requires U Mobile prepaid subscribers in East Malaysia to register via U Mobile’s official Facebook page to participate and win even bigger prizes by following a point-accumulation system.

Aside from celebrating U Mobile consumers in Sabah and Sarawak, the campaigns also symbolize U Mobile’s aggressive efforts in pursuit of gaining greater market share in the East Malaysian region.

The prepaid plans entail free calls, free SMS, and Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI). To date, the services have been very well-received in the East Malaysian region.
